Dr. Mike Hagley
Dr. Mike Hagley, a native of northern Minnesota, grew up in Bovey, MN. He attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and successfully completed the program in 1979. Upon graduation, he returned home and began his career working with a dentist in Deer River, MN. In 1983, Dr. Hagley moved his practice to Grand Rapids, where he currently provides professional dentistry in a state-of-the-art facility.
Continuing education is a top priority for Dr. Hagley. He believes in the importance of continual growth and improvement for himself and every member of his team. He actively pursues continuing education above and beyond that which is required for licensure, and he has studied at the Dental Implant Institute, the prestigious Dawson Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, and he has completed two years of coursework at the United States Dental Institute. His advanced training and experience encompasses a broad range of dental services, including cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, oral surgery, full-mouth reconstruction, endodontics (root canals), and periodontics (gum care).
An active member of the Grand Rapids community, Dr. Hagley regularly volunteers his time with local and national civic organizations. He has participated with the Deer River Jaycees, and he had a founding role in the Deer River Ducks Unlimited. His positions have included Director of the Timberman Triathlon, Campaign Chair for the 1998 United Way of 1000 Lakes campaign, dental liaison for Headstart and Children First, IMCare board member, and Cubmaster for Cub Scout Pack 44. Dr. Hagley is a past participant and proud graduate of the Blandin Community Leadership program and is a member of the Community Presbyterian Church where has served the congregation as an Elder and a Trustee.
An avid outdoorsman, Dr. Hagley enjoys the natural beauty of northern Minnesota and all of the recreational opportunities it offers. Together with wife, Mary, and children, Michael and Sarah, he spends his free time fishing, water skiing, biking, hunting, cross-country skiing, and wood working.

Dr. Hagley has served as Secretary/Treasurer, Program Chair, 1st Vice President, and President of the Northeastern District Dental Society, which is a regional affiliate of the Minnesota Dental Association and the American Dental Association.
Rachel Buchert, DDS
Dr. Rachel was raised in Monticello, MN, then attended Michigan Technological University for a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and an International Minor in Spanish. For two years after college, she worked as a dental assistant for a general dentist in Michigan, and then went on to attend the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, graduating in 2016. After dental school, she relocated to Omaha, NE and practiced as an associate in a group practice, then relocated again to Spokane, WA where she worked as the lead provider at a community health clinic.
Dr. Rachel enjoys the relationships with her patients of all ages. She is passionate about continuing education for not only herself, but she spends a lot of time educating her patients as well. She has taken courses in esthetics, occlusion, soft tissue laser use, pediatrics, Invisalign and more. She enjoys providing dentistry designed for the whole family.
Dr. Rachel has been married since 2014 to Dr. Spencer, whom she met during dental school. They recently had their first child, Ellie. Dr. Rachel enjoys the outdoors and spends her free time boating, camping, biking, skiing, playing soccer, and going on walks with her chocolate lab, Mocha. When there’s time, she cooks and reads too.
Spencer Buchert, DDS
Dr. Spencer grew up in Grand Rapids, MN. He attended college at St. John’s University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Management. After earning an additional bachelor’s degree in Biology at St. Cloud State University, he went on to attend the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Upon graduating from dental school in 2016 he commissioned as a Captain into the United Stated Air Force and completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Offutt AFB in Omaha, NE. Following his residency, Dr. Spencer was stationed at Fairchild AFB near Spokane, WA for three years where he practiced as a general dentist.
Dr. Spencer is passionate about general dentistry and enjoys forming personal relationships with his patients and treating a variety of dental needs. In addition to his Air Force training he has pursued further continuing education opportunities in esthetic dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, digital same day dentistry, as well as other disciplines. He is committed to continued learning and staying up to date with technology in order to provide patients with the highest quality care.
Dr. Spencer has been married since 2014 to Dr. Rachel, whom he met in dental school, and they recently had a daughter, Ellie. Dr. Spencer spends his free time enjoying the outdoors with family and friends and he especially enjoys boating, camping, hunting, fishing, and skiing.
